Education builds the foundation of a person, which is molded over the learning years of a student in school. A strong believer in this idea, shubhangini Prasad founded illuMany, an innovative education initiative which aims at introducing students to new concepts like Design Thinking. By creating compelling, up to date, relevant, interactive content, it works towards developing the skills that will enhance their future and make them 21st century smart, by conducting workshops at various schools across India.
Her affirmative and independent approach hails from her boarding school upbringing at the
Doon Girls’ School, Dehradun and Mayo College Girls’ School, Ajmer. Her graduation in Business & Management and Graduate Diploma in International Relations from University of London made her understand the futuristic outlook of the universities abroad. While pursuing her MSc. Innovation & Entrepreneurship at University of Warwick, U.K. she experienced her watershed moment where she realized the need and scope for futuristic education in India and how today’s classrooms fall short of meeting new challenges faced in this fast-paced world.
For this concept to gain momentum she organized a conference at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, U.K. where she spoke about innovation in education and was in conversation with eminent professors from both India and U.K. Looking at her passion and conviction to mold young minds and contribute towards transforming their classroom learning experience, she went back to Warwick as a lecturer to deliver modules that she attended in the previous years, in her own reiterated way.
A public speaker and an entrepreneur, Shubhangini aims to give innovation, the center stage of the educational arena. Besides this, she devotes her time in honing her skills in Odissi dance for which she holds a diploma degree. She strives relentlessly to leave her mark in the education world.
Having prospered in the environments of such educational institutions both as a student and an educator, Shubhangini decided to begin her counselling career to help young students advance their own career journeys. Students under her guidance have been placed at universities both in India and abroad, such as University College London, Imperial College London, University of Warwick, University of St Andrews, Kings College London, Ashoka University, and ISDI to name a few.
As someone who has thrived under the tutelage of her mentors herself, Shubhangini really values the mentor-client relationship as the core of her process and strives to provide each of them with personalised and holistic support during their school years and beyond.
